Laura Pettigrew is a composer, arranger and publisher of a wide variety of music, including solo instrumental, piano, choral, band and chamber music in addition to being an accomplished flutist. Her professional life in
Laura is committed to making solo, chamber and ensemble music available to young musicians which has led her to compose and publish new works each year for piccolo, flute, clarinet, saxophone, french horn and flute choir which are performed in Canadian Classes in the regional festivals throughout Saskatchewan as part of the Saskatchewan Music Festival. Her composition projects in the last three years have included commissions from the Regina Ladies Choir in 2004/05 and again in 2006/07; premiere of “In the Kings Court, The Marketplace” by the Regina Symphony Orchestra Chamber Players 2006 as part of the Festival of New Works Series; premiere of “Enaj” (a commissioned work for Flute & Piano, commissioned by Dr. Thomas Schudel for his wife Jane, then principal assistant flute of the RSO) 2003; commission from Arlene Shiplet, French horn of the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, “Cool Breeze” (for French Horn and Piano) published Kendor, 2005. Laura is available for commissions for instrumental, vocal and ensemble.
