DECEMBER 2020

Tremendously honoured to be part of The ADORE Project launched December 31, 2020
which includes my orchestral work Dòchas (HOPE in Scottish Gaelic)
The ADORE Project was created by orchestra conductors; Patrick Reynolds (University of Dayton)
David Tedford (Bloomsburg University) Chaowen Ting (Georgia Institute of Technology)

About The ADORE Project

The Accessible Diverse Orchestral Repertoire Equity (ADORE) Project  is committed to broadening and bringing greater
diversity to the repertoire of smaller orchestra programs. Beyond the rich traditions of what one would call the
“standard” orchestral composers and repertoire, there is a treasure of lesser-known and seldom performed works,
particularly  those composed by women, composers of color and composers of diverse ethnicity.
It is these distinguished composers and their works we hope to highlight and bring to a wider audience.

ACCESSIBLE = performable by smaller university orchestra programs.
DIVERSE = promoting programming that reflects our diverse society.
ORCHESTRAL = string orchestra, chamber orchestra or full orchestra.
REPERTOIRE = devoted to broadening the orchestral repertoire.
EQUITY = highlighting under-represented composers.

"Sguardi di Donne", an exhibition that will  take  place during the  month of  gender discrimination . "In this historical moment in which
racism and gender discrimination  seem to prevail, it is necessary to  raise the barricades to defend our rights" - declared Mayor Enrico Piergallini - "To counter the  evident regression,  we need initiatives like this one, The Councilor for Equal Opportunities Monica Pomili
echoes this , promising:  "We will not devote the fight against discrimination not only in March, but we will strive to go ahead even in

It was the most magical, amazing experience being honoured with an artist residency at Wildacres Retreat in June located in
the  Blue Ridge Mountains, Little Switzerland NC USA.  I was thrilled to have the opportunity to attend the world premiere of my work “Soaring….on eagles’ wings” (for flute quintet and piano) featuring Wildacres Flute Quintet attending the International Flute Masterclass Wildacres Flute Retreat. To have the peace and serenity in my own cabin surrounded by nature was truly inspiring allowing me to accomplish so much writing. Legend of Draco

October 25,  2014  RSO Masterworks Series
Regina Symphony Orchestra conducted by  Maestro Boguslaw  Dawidow

Concert review  CHRISTOPHER TESSMER THE LEADER-POST OCTOBER 27, 2014

RSO performance was macabre, sublime, fantastique
Beginning with the world premiere of Regina-born composer Laura Pettigrew's Legend of Draco, the celebrated local
orchestra  was outstanding. Pettigrew's three-movement symphony, which she introduced and noted, was based on a Celtic
legend.  Legend of Draco  was sublime with a style reminiscent of the acclaimed scores of the television show Game of Thrones,
in the sense that it evoked images of an ancient world, battle and a mythical creature.

Patrons were drawn in by the composition that alternated between romantic and epic moments and brilliantly utilized many
percussive elements. Often used minimally as part of orchestrations, Pettigrew's Legend of Draco made them a focal point in the
third movement and led it to a grandiose conclusion. Simply put - it was awesome.
